Australian Earthmoving Magazine News:
South Island contractor says a quality machine is a sound investment.

Since 2011 Terex® equipment has been an integral part of the earthmoving equipment fleet of McDonough Contracting Ltd.

“Our Terex TC37 mini excavator is a well designed and manufactured machine. Its superior build becomes very obvious when compared with equipment from some other manufacturers”, explains Managing Director, Bruce McDonough.

“The excavator is very reliable and equipped with robustly constructed buckets. Its engine and hydraulics deliver all the power we need.”

“With available bucket capacities of 54-191 litres, a maximum dig depth of 3,200mm, a float position for the dozer blade and engine power of 22kW, the TC37 mini excavator has proved its worth by taking on a wide range of challenging tasks,” McDonough said.

The TC37 excavator offers optional hydraulic system features including Terex electro-proportional fingertip controls for the added precision of movement which is desirable for efficient operation of many attachments and an additional foot pedal for the control circuit.

“The cab is great, and our operators are more than happy with the TC37 unit,” says McDonough. Cab options include a ROPS canopy with working floodlight, as well as a range of operator seat options that include pneumatic lumbar support, air damping, extra-high backrest, and longitudinal-horizontal suspension. With its range of attachments, the TC37 unit has been a great addition to our equipment fleet,” McDonough added.

With its zero tail swing and ideal dimensions for operating in small spaces, the TC37 mini excavator provides operators with excellent visibility and manoeuvrability. By side-mounting the engine, the operator cab space is increased, which gives greater comfort, resulting in higher productivity. Daily maintenance is simple, thanks to easy access to all service points.

McDonough Contracting Ltd specialises in thrust boring, directional drilling, cable installation and farm water schemes installation. The company also carries out road maintenance for Transit New Zealand.
